I am an artist who uses photography as an artistic tool.

I am based in East Sussex and the local landscape is one of the main influences on my work.

In my artwork I aim to establish a strong sense of place, exploring what makes particular places recognizable, special and unique. I am drawn in particular to structures, both man-made and natural.

I consider myself to be an Outsider Artist. Outsider Artists are people who see the world differently because of disability or disadvantage. My artwork Another Hastings 1 won first prize in the 2014-15 Tight Modern Public Vote. Tight Modern is a national touring exhibition of Outsider Art.

I had a stroke when I was just a few months old. This disability is one of the many reasons why I'm interested in visual language. This has also given me a strong determination to find different ways of expressing myself.

I am a member of PhotoHastings, a collective of photographers from the South East of England.

I studied for the Extended Diploma in Photography course at Ashford College, graduating in 2012 with Distinction.
